John Jenkins first came to Harvest Evangelism as, in his words, "a drunk, crackhead, and homeless" though he had been raised in a Christian family with loving parents.
John heard about His Place by finding a gospel tract which had information about Harvest Evangelism. According to John, this tract gave him hope for the first time in a long time. John called and was accepted into the program on March 26th, 2000.
After completing his year-long program at His Place John stayed with the ministry wanting to help in anyway that he was able to. With each year that passed he began to help more and more.
John Jenkins has become the 'go-to' man at Harvest Evangelism. He works with the men at His Place as a mentor, delivers meals to people all over the community, works with local community groups, and aids the executive director in a plethora of ways.
"Yes, every blessing I have received, has been from Jesus Christ. The biggest and best was when He was hung on the cross, for all my sins. I love this ministry , and the people in it. The staff we have, and the men and women in the program, who are here to change. Their lives through salvation in Jesus Christ."
