Born and raised in Riverside, California, Kim Hagans has been lifting up the Name of Jesus
since the age of five when she was Born Again.
At the age of twelve, she had an experience with the Holy Spirit that transformed her life
and she has not stopped talking about the goodness of the Lord Jesus Christ since that day!
As a child she was always active in the church choir, youth and other assorted church activities, which gave her many opportunities to share her faith and her relationship with the Lord to others. At the age of 16, Kim and her family moved to Geraldine, Alabama, a small community in North Eastern Alabama where she finished High School and began working with the youth there in her church. She was instrumental in beginning a Christian Bible club in her High School. In 1978 Kim moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she attended Rhema Bible Training Center and there she met her husband, Rick Hagans. After dating for two years they marrried in 1980. Upon getting married, Kim joined her husband Rick as they began their ministry, called East Alabama Challenge. It was actually a continuation of what they had already been doing; now they were doing it together. Their ministry work included starting a Christian Coffeehouse, traveling and preaching, providing one-on-one discipleship for teens and young adults, and bringing countless people with various life controlling problems into their own home to house and minister to. In 1984 Rick and Kim moved to Lindale, Texas where Rick became and Associate Minister with David Wilkerson. He and his partner, Roger Hayslip (David Wilkerson's son-in-law), traveled and ministered primarily in the border towns of Texas and Mexico (this is where Rick's heart for Mexico truly began). While in Texas, Kim worked part time in the offices of World Challenge and helped with Children's Ministries. Eventually, after returning back to Alabama in 1986, the name of the ministry in Alabama was changed to Harvest Evangelism, Inc. Out of this came His Place, a men's home, and then later Hosanna Home, a ladies' home. Both His Place and Hosanna Home are a place for men and women with life controlling problems and their goal is to see them saved, healed and set free from the bondages of sin, death, fear, and torment. For over 28 years Kim Hagans has had the privilege to counsel, disciple, teach, and love many women. She finds it a joy to share Christ with each woman she meets and to watch as the Lord comes into their lives and transforms them; changing their desires and healing their hearts. From 1994 to 1996 Kim and her husband lived and worked at the Alabama Sheriffs Girls Ranch where they were the "parents" to 8 teenage girls between the ages of 16 and 20. Kim was also the director of the Independent Living Program there. Several of these girls, now ladies, are still a part of their lives, and Rick and Kim are even "grandparents" to some of their children. Currently, Kim is the Director of Ladies Ministries with their organization, Harvest Evangelism, which includes discipling the leaders in their ladies' home, Hosanna Home. Kim also serves as an on call advisor for youth pastors, teaches Bible Studies on a regular basis at her local church and Hosanna Home, teaches at Women's seminars and in church services, and mentors ladies locally and helps disciple others who don't have someone close by to do so. She is a regular writer in their Harvest Evangelism monthly newsletter. She has written for the quarterly newsletter through the ladies ministry at Lakeviw Baptist Church in Auburn, Alabama. Her love for the Lord and insights from God's Word easily come through to bless the heart and soul of every listener and reader. Kim's passion is to share God's Word and His love with women throughout the world. Her desire is to communicate that passion in such a way as to give each listener the desire to do the same. She longs for the day when women everywhere are consumed and overwhelmed with love and a servant's heart for their Lord Jesus Christ and the Father who adores them. Kim enjoys the opportunity to minister in her local community. She has also spoken in churches in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Minnesota and Texas. She has ministered in Mexico and in London, England. Kim lives in Auburn, Alabama with her husband Rick and their four children; R.C., 22; Winchester, 18; Elliot, 14; and Dreamer, 11. They are members of First Baptist Church of Opelika, Alabama. |
