Harvest Evangelism
Hope's Inn

Rick and Kim Hagans, our staff and Board members are so pleased with the newest Harvest Evangelism ministry, Hope's Inn. Hope's Inn is a crisis shelter for women and children in need. Our purpose is to reach out to those whose lives have been devastated by the storms of life and show them that somebody cares and somebody is willing to give them more than just a place to sleep and three meals a day. At Hope's Inn, a beautiful, newly renovated facility located in rural Alabama, women and children find themselves in a place of peace, safety and love. Our main goals are to live as a family should, with love, concern and respect for one another; and to give them the chance to see for themselves that there is life after disaster, there is hope after loss and there is family after a heart has been broken. We know that we cannot offer anything without the help of our Lord Jesus Christ and we know that when we lose hope, our hope is in Him. If you or someone you know is in a crisis situation, we would love to help. We here at Harvest Evangelism know that we have been blessed with so much, as the Bible says, "Freely we have received, freely give." Here on this webpage we have a letter from our Hope's Inn Director, Linda Sullivan, testimonies, and more information concerning what we are about. A New Hope for Hurricane Evacuees in LAFAYETTE,Al

Hope rests high on a hill in rural Lafayette, Alabama. In this case, hope stands in the form of a stately brick building named Hope's Inn. The shelter has recently become a safe haven for hurricane evacuees and others in need of emergency lodging. It is part of a system of volunteer agencies that offer their services to the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in the effort to assist disaster survivors.

A testimony of hope in God's Love by Diana Shepard, age 23, New Orleans, La.

Director

Hello, my name is Linda Sullivan. I am married to David and we have two sons and six grandchildren. My father was a minister. I have always known that God loved me, but at 8 years of age, I was born again. I have always had a desire to serve God. However, for some time I have not been satisfied with my life. I had a great family, a good church, and a rewarding job. Yet, I could not shake the feeling that there was more God had for me to do.

In October 2005, I visited with my niece and nephew, TR and Phillip Amason. They showed me an old hospital which Harvest Evangelism had bought where they planned to house homeless women and children. Frankly, it took a lot imagination to picture the dream which motivated that purchase. There was something intriguing about the idea though. I thought about it and even told several family members about the plans. . on another occasion in February, I came to visit the local family members again and they told me I would have to meet them at the old hospital because they were having a work day there. What a transition! I was so excited to see the progress that had been made in just a few short months.

Just in casual conversation with TR, I mentioned I would like to have something like what was going on there. Before I knew it, TR mentioned to Pastor Rick what I had said. A few days later I got a phone call from TR telling me that Pastor Rick wanted my resume and an interview. I returned several weekends in a row and after much prayer and thought Pastor Rick asked us if we would be willing to move to Lafayette and become the Directors at Hope's Inn, and David and I agreed that being the Director's of Hope's Inn was what God had in mind for us. I quit my job of 10 years, packed a few things in the back of our Caravan and moved to Lafayette. David came down a week later.

The joy I have had since undertaking the running of Hope's Inn far exceeds anything I have experienced in my Christian life. God truly has great plans for Hope's Inn and for the women whose lives will be changed because of the encounter they will have with God there.

Life with Christ has endless HOPE

Life without Christ has a hopeless end
